Kish Island, Iran / 2004

Realization Competition 2nd Prize

The 7 Stars Hotel “Flower of the East” boasts a symbolic shape that has made it a new island landmark, impacting on the entire Gulf region. The hotel floats over the water like an openign blossom. Hotel, apartments, water gardens, pools and beach areas are arranged as an overall floral composition that can also be seen from the air.

The complex is presented as a reinterpretation of traditional Persian architecture using modern design and technical resources. Daylight filters between the two “petals” into the hall with its hanging gardens, luxuriant greenery and water-games. The luxurious hotel rooms and suites also refect themes of light and shade management from Persian architecture.
