TOWER BUILDING A3 LENNÈSTREET

Berlin / 2003

Potsdamer Platz, Berlin-Tiergarten Competition 1st Prize

The 10 stories high tower building is part of an ensemble of five point high-rise buildings that conclude the Beisheim Center quarter in Potsdamer Platz on the Tiergarten side. The five buildings are similar in basic shape and height but demonstrate different architectural handwriting. Building A3 is in an exposed central position looking towards the Reichstag and Potsdamer Platz. Despite taking up the Potsdamer Platz “dress code” with natural stone as a façade material, the home with its storey-high window elements and a high proportion of window area seems light, transparent and open.
