CLIPPER ELB LODGE

Old Harbour Hamburg / 2003

International Competition 2nd Prize

In recent years Holzhafen Hamburg, an area and part of the „Perlenkette“ (String of Pearls) along the banks of the River Elbe, has been one of the main focuses of the Hamburg urban development project “back to the River Elbe”. Kees Christiaanse/Astoc, 1st prize, developed a larger volume along the banks of the river, ASP developed the small part leading to the river slope with a boarding-house ‘Clipper Elb Lodge’ including comfortable rooms, a lounge, a wellness centre and other services. Here the special attraction is a free view onto the River Elbe and the harbour.
