A + T HIGHRISE POTSDAMER PLATZ

Berlin / 2001

At present five building blocks are being built parallel to the “Neue Promenade” and together with the A + T Tower at Potsdamer Platz, based on Giorgio Grassi’s urban design concept. The drop-like rounded corner on Potsdamer Platz is a memento to the legendary Kempinski Haus Vaterland which once stood here. The end building suspended above the underground has a fully glazed cavity-wall double façade towards Potsdamer Platz from the second full storey up. The airspace between outer an inner glass layer may be divded by coloured metal sheets displying the tenants’ logos, horizontal to the partitions between the rental units.
