EXTENSION OF THE PRIMARY SCHOOL STAMMESSTRASSE

Hanover / 2014

With this extension building the existing ensemble of buildings in Hanover-Ricklingen is completed and further developed into a new complex with its own distinct and modern architectural expression. A clear and plain construction as a cubic solitary building together with the existing structure defines a new frame around the schoolyard. The new three-storey building is connected to the old school with a single-storey recreation hall along the entire building at the gable-end of the old building.

The facade structure consisting of reddish-yellow brickwork and a ceiling band of large-sized cut stone is based on playfully alternating floor-to-ceiling wall openings of varying widths between the storey-bands.
